A deliberate change of pace
With over 100 English guides live and every major neighbourhood, attraction, cuisine, and practical topic genuinely covered, this update goes somewhere different: instead of more English pages, we've translated all six category hub pages — Neighbourhoods, Things to Do, Food & Drink, Day Trips, Practical Info, and Updates — into Indonesian, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese.
What this actually changes
Previously, switching the site to Indonesian, Chinese, or Japanese only translated the homepage — every other link led back to English. Now, visitors browsing in those three languages can navigate all six sections of the site in their own language, even though the individual guide pages within each section are still being translated one at a time.
Why this, and why now
Breadth across English content has reached a genuinely comprehensive point — adding page 108 has less impact than making the site properly usable for the roughly one in five Sydney visitors who don't speak English as a first language. Structure matters before depth: a fully translated navigation, even pointing to a partially translated site, is more useful than another isolated English page.
What's next
We'll keep translating individual guides into these three languages progressively, prioritising the highest-value pages first — getting around, visas, and the most popular neighbourhoods and attractions. The other 13 languages remain on the roadmap, starting from the same homepage-first foundation these three began with.
Thanks for following along — as always, get in touch if there's a language or a specific page you'd like us to prioritise.
